White Chocolate Cherry Cookies

 Ingredients:

1/2 cup maraschino cherries (drained and chopped)

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup cold butter

4 oz white chocolate baking squares (chopped)

1/2 tsp almond extract

red food coloring

2/tsp shortening


Directions:

1. Preheat over to 325 F

2. Combine flour and sugar, cut in butter until crumbly, add cherries, and chocolate.  Stir in almond extract and food coloring

3. Shape into 3/4 in balls, use bottom of glass dipped in sugar to flatten

4. Bake 10-12 minutes
